Shands HealthCare hosts a number of fundraising events each year. These events include galas, golf tournament and dance marathons just to name a few. Fishing for Kids 2011
The Seventh Annual Fishing for Kids Saltwater Trout Tournament, hosted by Shands Engineering, reeled in more than $14,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Shands Hospital for Children at University of Florida. The tournament included more than 103 anglers and 18 youth anglers. Members from many Shands departments participated in the tournament. The tournament was held at Sea Hag Marina, in Steinhatchee, FL, on Saturday, April 30. Mark your calendars for next year’s tournament – Saturday, April 28, 2012!

This annual golf tournament has provided valuable support to the Shands Vista Partners in Adolescent Lifestyle Support (PALS) program bringing mental-health specialists into local schools to help students help each other. Your support will help us place a PALS program in every Alachua County school.
